All right, so Xmas may be two weeks in the past already, but I figure we can all use a little Santa from time to time. And these guys seem to be twins, though one seems to be a little cross-eyed.

Video: Maastricht 2010/11
Het nieuwe jaar is al weer een paar dagen oud. Oudejaarsavond werd er tonnen vuurwerk de lucht in geschoten, toch zijn de boze geesten van het afgelopen jaar niet verjaagd. Kabinet Bruin 1 zit immers nog steeds op het pluche.
Ik bracht de jaarwisseling met mijn vriendin door in Maastricht. Voor de tweede keer zochten we een plek uit om anoniem de nacht door te brengen. Weg van alle verplichtingen die bij oud & nieuw komen kijken.
Voor zover ik me kan herinneren was het de eerste keer dat ik in deze historische stad mocht vertoeven. Met plezier heb ik door de oude stadskern gewandeld om de historische gebouwen te bekijken. Een schril contrast met de kitscherige kerstversiering en andere glitters waarmee de stad was opgeluisterd.
Grappig trouwens hoe op drie januari de feestdagen alweer lang geleden lijken. Vergeten kerstversiering die je nog op straat ziet hangen lijkt een anachronisme. Gelukkig hebben we de video en foto’s nog.

Nice house in the snow
Walking through Maastricht on New Year’s Day, we came across this little homestead. Although the snow in Amsterdam had practically melted, there was still some left in the south of Holland.

For New Year’s Eve, my girlfriend and I went to Maastricht. On the first day of the new year, traces of last year’s festivities were still very visible.
